STNA or a State tested nursing assistant is a certification given to a person formally trained as a nursing assistant. Anyone wanting to become a nursing assistant has to undergo a course designed for them. Next, they need to undergo clinical training. It means practically working in a medical facility with patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The final step is to sit for the STNA exam. In almost all states, this exam has to be taken within 90 days from date of course completion. People who take this exam are tested for basic concepts. The exam is divided into 2 parts – one is written and the other is clinical. Being well prepared with all the course material and carefully remembering the clinical skills will help in clearing the exam easily.
