The art of smoking cessation ~ Understanding your addiction
Let’s face it, most smokers have tried to quit smoking and failed miserably. There is no other reason than a lack of determination. Kicking the smoking habit is never easy and those who have quit and say it was aren’t being honest with you. Nicotine is a very addictive substance, and worst of all it is legally available almost everywhere unlike most other drugs which are difficult to procure.
The preparation
Smoking cessation can only be successful when you make a strong resolve to yourself. Understand the benefits of quitting, the side effects of smoking, ponder over how your nicotine dependence has you feeling unnerved if you can’t have a smoke. Quitting today can liberate you from the clutches of nicotine and deliver you from almost certain chances of cancer and other respiratory diseases.
Smoking cessation
There are NO shortcuts to quit smoking, it’s an arduous path, but not a very long one; and many a smoker have walked down it to a nicotine free future. There are two reasons people find it difficult to quit, the physical requirement, and the mental requirement. The physical requirement is surprisingly easier to break, your body ride itself of all nicotine dependency in just three days, after which it is the mental requirement that has you going back for that “one last” cigarette. First of all, there is no “one last cigarette”; it’s an illusion that pacifies the desire to quit in a smoker. Mental dependency keeps reminding you that you haven’t had a single cigarette in a while, and it’s probably time to get one, whereas the body has no craving for it anymore.
